predictions for 2003
Geek
So it was spake, so shall it be.
- 2003 will be the year of the LCD monitor. Sony's move to stop manufacturing 17 and 19 inch CRTs will eventually be imitated by the other major manufacturers. As more systems are bundled with LCD monitors and CRTs become harder to find, LCD manufacturer's yeild will dramatically improve, driving prices down. Low-end fifteen inch LCDs will become affordable, dropping below AUD$400 and high-end fifteen's will drop below AUD$1000.
- The UN will become irrelevant. While it will be around for years to come, the United States' (and hence England's and Australia's) inevitable prosecution of war against Iraq will be the beginning of the end of the UN. If the Security Council approves the war, it will demonstrate the UN can be manipulated for any gain. If it does not then the war will proceed anyway, thus demonstrating that the UN has no effective power. Either way, the UN loses.
- I finally get a playable version of SWars released.
