Oh, fantastic! The Corporate Fallout Detector is a handheld device which scans barcodes and gives you a reading of the ethics of the company that produced the product. See also the /. discussion.
It does a lookup of the manufacturer's barcode against an online database, then queries two more online databases, one for corporate ethics and one for pollution. The worse the records, the higher the intensity of the geiger-counter-like audiable reading.
