Volition

So I ran into Joel last night at the German Club, which was cool. He's in town for the weekend to catch up with his sister. We were talking about my recent shift to being a full-time, ethical vegetarian and how he was the same a few years ago. Apparently toasted bacon sandwiches will be the thing that makes me fold. I fully concur.

For the record, I've already consumed two meaty products; gelatin-based red raspberrys (which were pretty average anyway) and an imitation Tim-Tam that, according to the ingredients list, contained vegetable and/or animal fat. Hmm.

Anyway, he also convinced me to jump out of a plane at 14,000 feet when I am in Melbourne next and have the time. This may well be in December. This worries me a bit however as I think it would be easy for me get hooked on such a thing; to start throwing myself out of planes or off high things at regular intervals, and I don't want to think what the consequences would be for my current, rather tenuous financial situation.

Strangely enough I also ran into the remainder of the Helbig clan and one half of the Spence clan at the club, which was also cool. Very entertaining guys. Mike Spence and Joel got along like a house burning down.
