mission accomplished

Well, after a total of about a day's work, all incoming and outgoing vee.net email is now scanned by ClamAV for viruses. All positives are rejected during the SMTP session and hence never get spooled on my mail server. So now, instead of getting an infected message every minute or two, I get a virus intercepted report instead. Yippie! At least I can filter those out.

No, the plural of virus is not virii.

ClamAV is libre software, and comes with a milter for Sendmail that is easy to set up and use. It catches the latest Windows virus doing the rounds, which makes me glow with a warm contentment. I was originally planning to use MIMEDefang, but it still seems like overkill, I really do not want yet another Perl daemon running on my server and the FreeBSD port for it seems to be broken right now, anyway.

Why am I telling you all this? Just so I could publically thank every person who uses Windows for costing me a day of my life. A day that I will never get back. Please, do us both a favour and get a Mac.

What repressed anger? I don't repress my anger, I express it at length =)

But yeah, alcohol sounds good. Say, this weekend?
