Heh, good idea, I need some new material for Voliton. :)

What I don't get is how giving more money to sport programs is going to encourage more kids to play sport. The only thing it is going to do is pay for better equipment so that the kids that are already involved can play better, harder, faster or something.

The kids that aren't will just continte to not play any sport. It's not like having shiny new boxing gloves is going to make Ralph want to take up boxing with Nelson.

I think it's all part of an effort to pump out more super-jocks, so we have *more* sport to watch and hence distract us even more from the real issues (like why I'm not Il-Presidente).

hey,

just while we're howard bashing (which is always a bit of an easy target) I had to change the pays for work the other day to take into account the tax cuts. end result: anyone on a low wage received nothing (mr and mr joe public). anyone on a nice earner received even more, like about $1400 a year (the ones who don't need it as much). good to see howard is giving the cash back to his elitist private school liberal cronies and making sure the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. so much for caring and sharing. how about spending it on hospitals or education instead?
