I'm actually enjoying the current round of comment spamming on my local.
We have a feature that edits any HTML etc out of names and titles, so our bloggy thing has a small rash of oddly generic shouting: "Buy Xanax! Play Poker!" with no particular Mexican pharmacist or online casino in mind... this is the bigger-pie economic theory of advertising, maybe.
We keep them around because they're still amusing, weeks later.

I am not the "comment spammer", as you my dear old friend woud know only too well, i.e. Please explain what "spam" (sp. ???) is, and also what you are implying when you make the accussation: "...comment spammer...!..."?
However, could you please email me @gmail, a very detailed and informative reminder, of how i access my soverymuchMOREvaluable, veemail?
I will apologise some for my existence in the private sphere.
Thank you (?!?) xj
Mike: I think everyone should write all kinds of software for themselves. But since I don't even follow my own advice any more, I can't expect anyone else to. Still, it's nice that you are %)
Further still off-topic: A friend of mine coined the term "chumper" last week, meaning "one who, in their sleep, smacks their lips and otherwise makes non-vocal salivary noises. See /chump/ (vi)".

What can I say? I'm easily convinced to write something from scratch.
"Chump" as in "A short, thick, heavy piece of wood"?

A related query to you, Herr Gratton. Did you, or did you not, coin the term 'chugger', i.e. 'charity mugger'.
And FUCK OFF SPAMMERS from me too.
(get it? they're both REALLY ANNOYING)

Joel: You're saying I should write my own blogging software? I think you're right!
Jess: For comment spam, thing "email spam" but in a blog's comments. I.e. people abusing comments to try to drive traffic to their website.
Mang: No no, our discovery of the word "chugger" can be attributed to Matt of ex-Ebor Ave fame.
