Life

... and finally, the gripping conclusion.

I expect a decent story describing the chain of events of Parts I - III in the comments by the time I get back from Mt Hotham next weekend.

Someone stole your bike and went for a joyride?

Nah, some kids wanted to see what happened if a train ran over a bike, so they put it on the line around a blind corner just before the Outer Harbour terminus. It didn't derail the train, but got wedged below the truck (the bit that the wheels are connected to) and so the driver had to try to clear it before we went anywhere again.

We all took turns trying to free it, it was something out of a post-apocalyptic film: Without the proper tools, we reverted to smashing it with rocks and trying to lever the undercarriage with sticks. Deprived of technology, we reverted to cave men. With peak oil hitting, this does not bode well for the continuation of the species.
